High-Pressure Water Jetting

If you're dealing with a blocked drain, slow flow, or build-up that keeps coming back, high-pressure water jetting is one of the fastest and most effective ways to clear the line and get your drainage working properly again.

ICE Drainage provides professional drain jetting across London and the Home Counties, supporting commercial sites, hospitality venues, facilities managers, and property teams with reactive call-outs and planned maintenance.

Call 0203 870 1067 for advice and a no-obligation quote.

What is high-pressure water jetting?

High-pressure water jetting, also called drain jetting, uses a specialist jetting unit to send high-pressure water through the drainage pipework. It breaks up blockages, flushes debris out, cleans the inside of the pipe, and gets flow restored quickly and safely.

It works well for most common drainage problems, especially where build-up has formed gradually over time.

What can drain jetting remove?

High-pressure jetting is very effective at clearing and cleaning fat, oil, and grease (FOG) build-up, food waste and sludge, wet wipes and sanitary waste where they're accessible, silt and debris in external lines, general build-up causing slow drainage, and blockages in gullies and channel drains.

If the restriction is something solid, like concrete, heavy scale, or a root mass, we might recommend a CCTV inspection first and a different method, such as mechanical cleaning or milling.

Signs you may need high-pressure jetting

Jetting is often the right fix if you're seeing slow-draining sinks, toilets, or floor drains, gurgling sounds and poor flow, blockages repeating in the same spot, overflowing manholes or flooding outside, bad smells coming from drains, or kitchen drainage issues during busy service.

If you've got an active back-up or flooding, call 0203 870 1067 for urgent support.

High-pressure jetting versus rodding

Rodding can help with simple, small blockages, but it often doesn't clean the pipe walls.

High-pressure jetting is usually the better option because it clears blockages more thoroughly, flushes debris right out of the system, cleans the pipe walls to reduce the chance of it happening again, reaches further along the line, and works well on grease and sludge build-up.

For commercial sites and recurring problems, jetting is usually the most reliable first step.

Our drain jetting process

We keep this straightforward and effective.

1) Initial assessment

We gather details on the symptoms, access points, and whether there's any flooding or downtime risk.

2) Safe set-up and access

We work out the best access point, whether that's a manhole, rodding eye, gully, or internal access, and set up safely.

3) High-pressure jetting

We jet the line to break up the blockage and flush the debris through.

4) Flow check and clean-down

We confirm flow has been restored and leave the area clean and safe.

5) CCTV inspection where needed

If the problem keeps coming back, we may recommend CCTV to work out what's really causing it, like root ingress, a defect, or heavy scaling.

Commercial drain jetting for hospitality and facilities teams

Commercial drainage systems tend to block more because of heavy use and faster build-up, especially in kitchens and busy venues.

We regularly support hotels, pubs, bars, and restaurants, commercial kitchens and food sites, schools, colleges, and public buildings, retail units and shopping centres, managed estates and multi-site portfolios, and facilities management teams.

We can work around service hours where possible to keep disruption low.

Planned drain jetting

If you're dealing with repeat blockages, planned jetting can cut down on emergencies and protect your operations.

A planned programme reduces reactive call-outs, helps prevent blockages during busy periods, improves hygiene and cuts down on odours, supports compliance and site safety, and extends the life of your drainage system.

If you manage multiple sites, we can help you build a sensible schedule.

If your drain is blocked right now

Reduce water usage to stop it overflowing, keep people away from any foul water, avoid harsh chemicals as they can create hazards and won't fix the cause, note where the problem is happening (a single outlet or several), and call ICE Drainage on 0203 870 1067 for support.
