Our collapsed drain replacement treatment process
Step 1 Contact
Call us if the drain has stopped flowing, repeatedly backs up, has caused local flooding or a survey indicates a collapse. We gather the site details, affected facilities and any CCTV information so the response can be prioritised. Where necessary, we first focus on making the drainage situation manageable before permanent repair planning.
Step 2 Quote
We establish the failed section's position, depth and surrounding drainage arrangement using CCTV, tracing or other investigation where possible. Because a collapse normally prevents a simple internal repair, we plan the excavation, replacement length, connections, access, spoil handling and reinstatement. The quotation is based on that defined repair scope rather than an open-ended dig.
Step 3 Works
The work area is controlled and the collapsed section is exposed using suitable excavation methods. Damaged pipe and obstructing material are removed, the base is prepared and replacement pipework is installed to the correct alignment and fall before being securely connected to sound drainage. The repair is checked before backfilling, compaction and agreed surface reinstatement.
Step 4 After care
Before handover, we confirm that the replacement section is carrying flow correctly and that the excavation has been reinstated as specified. Where useful, a CCTV inspection can check the new connections and nearby pipe condition. We then flag any contributing deterioration or additional defects and advise on monitoring or maintenance to reduce the chance of another major failure.
